Adventures in Babyland

It's a really good thing I'm on leave from work right now.  If I attempted to be productive in a regular-adult way I'd be sadly disappointing to myself and others.  I used to be the queen of multitasking.  Now I'm happy if I can get one thing done a day - aside from baby care, that is.  I wonder if it's because I'm so old that I'm unable to integrate baby care easily into other daily activities.  Everything now takes me hours to do...changing a diaper takes like an hour, feeding the baby takes like an hour...watching the baby takes like an hour.  Ok, not really...but almost.  Days are flying by with not much to show for it, cept baby's still alive.  Yay!

David has a friend whose wife had a baby 2 days after I did.  I've friended her on facebook.  I notice I'm very competitive about our babies.  When she posts pictures of their baby, I ask David if their baby is cuter.  Of course, Baby Rae always wins that competition.  That mom is totally winning the Super Mom competition though.  She's already back at the gym and looking fabulous and getting professional photographs taken.  My, the organizational skills she must possess!

Today I decided I need to hang more pictures on our walls and make the house more cozy.  I'll get to that probably next month sometime.  Or maybe in summer.  Or next year.

  2. It looks kind of like a flying saucer in this picture, but I think you're referring to the magnifying lamp - it's attached to the changing table with an adjustable metal arm. I told David it was a bit clinical looking for a baby's room, picturing instead something like...oh...a Winnie the Pooh lamp or something. This is actually really convenient to use though.
